Course Overview

When a child shows sexualised behaviour, it can be unsettling and emotionally complex for foster carers. This course provides clear, practical steps for keeping everyone safe while maintaining dignity, calm, and connection.

Grounded in trauma-informed practice, PACE and our Five PearlsCalm Anchor, Acceptance Shield, Curiosity Lens, Empathy Bridge, and Playful Pause — you’ll learn how to balance firm boundaries with compassionate understanding.

Through real-life case studies, reflective supervision tools, and interactive scenarios, you’ll explore how to:

  • Create and review proportionate household safety plans.
  • Respond confidently in the first 72 hours after an incident.
  • Recognise when to record, reflect, and escalate concerns.
  • Communicate safely with children, schools, and professionals.
  • Manage your own emotional responses and use supervision effectively.

This course helps carers replace fear with clarity, and guesswork with guided, therapeutic action.
