  • Length: 50 minutes

Course Overview

Short break care can make a lasting difference to children and the families caring for them. Yet even a brief stay involves significant transitions, and well-intentioned treats, activities or affection can sometimes leave a child feeling overwhelmed.

Through a podcast, practical scenarios and interactive activities, this course explores how to provide warmth and enjoyment while protecting familiar routines, following the child’s communication and supporting a calm return home.

You will also receive practical resources, including a welcome and return checklist, a child-friendly short break passport, a calm-stay planning tool and a reflection record to help improve future stays.
