Course Overview

When a school phones to report sexualised behaviour, it can send any carer’s heart racing. This course helps you slow things down, understand the language schools use, and respond calmly, confidently, and safely.

Designed for foster carers, kinship carers, and adoptive parents, this short, trauma-informed course walks you through what to do, and what not to do when concerns arise in school.

Through videos, interactive scenarios, and a reflective podcast, you’ll learn how to:

  • Understand the Hackett Continuum and what schools mean by sexualised, problematic, and harmful behaviour.
  • Use calm, factual language when incidents are reported Share the right amount of information with the right people.
  • Collaborate effectively in meetings and help create proportionate safety plans.
  • Stay grounded emotionally while protecting everyone’s dignity.

The course blends therapeutic parenting insight with practical safeguarding guidance, so you leave feeling steady, informed, and part of the team around the child.
