Course Overview

This introductory course helps prospective foster parents and prospective kinship carers understand how safer caring can protect children, adults and everyone in the household without removing warmth, affection or ordinary family life.

Through a focused podcast and practical activities, learners will explore individual safer caring plans, proportionate approaches to risk and the value of professional curiosity. The course also introduces how to notice changes and patterns, separate fact from interpretation, record accurately and share concerns through the correct route.

It includes an honest but reassuring introduction to complaints, standards of care concerns and allegations.

This course does not replace mandatory safeguarding or allegations training, which learners will complete after approval.
