  • Length: 15 minutes

Course Overview

When sexualised behaviour happens, those first few days can feel overwhelming. This short, practical course gives foster carers a clear 72-hour plan for what to do. You’ll learn how to respond safely, reduce shame, protect everyone involved, and work confidently with other professionals.

Through calm, trauma-informed guidance, you’ll explore how to:

  • Stay composed and stabilise the situation in the moment.
  • Record and report concerns without escalating shame.
  • Update your Safe Caring Plan and supervision routines.
  • Use language that reassures, not shames.
  • Look after your own wellbeing while supporting the child.

You’ll leave with a printable 72-hour checklist, practical scripts, and clear next steps that align with NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) and NSPCC guidance.

Great course that gives practical advice.

This was brilliant, we have had a foster placement making sexualised comments and gestures. I feel like we reacted well considering we have no experience and the podcast have given us useful tips for any future events.
