Course Overview
Supporting teenagers can sometimes feel like walking through a minefield.
Whether you're a foster parent, kinship parent, supported lodgings provider, residential care practitioner or teacher, it can be difficult to know how to respond when conflict, frustration or emotional outbursts take over.
This course will help you better understand what may be happening beneath the behaviour and explore practical ways to turn moments of conflict into opportunities for connection.
There is no magic wand.
Building trust, improving communication and strengthening relationships takes time, patience and consistency.
However, every positive interaction matters, and every step towards understanding can make a difference.
Throughout this course, you'll learn practical, trauma-informed approaches that can help you:
- Understand behaviour differently
- Communicate more effectively with teenagers
- Respond with confidence during challenging moments
- Strengthen relationships while maintaining boundaries
- Create more opportunities for connection, trust and growth
You do not need to get everything right.
This course is about building understanding, developing confidence and discovering approaches that can help relationships feel calmer, safer and more connected.
